More About the Diversity Forum
Each year, the California Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education draws hundreds of highly motivated students from a wide range of majors and institutions, including University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), and private colleges, who are actively considering graduate school. For institutions committed to cultivating a diverse and dynamic graduate student body, the Diversity Forum offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect directly with these future scholars through the Graduate School Fair.
Graduate recruiters will gain access to high quality diverse students interested in continuing their education through graduate studies. These high-achieving students, many from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, are often affiliated with graduate school preparation and research programs (like the California Pre-Doctoral Program, McNair, UC LEADS, MARC, etc.), as well as other campus initiatives that support students seeking to unlock their academic potential. These students are not just exploring options—they are seeking institutions that value equity, mentorship, and academic excellence. As a recruiter, you’ll have the chance to:
- Answer questions about your programs, funding opportunities, and admissions criteria
- Engage with students at various stages of the graduate school search
- Identify prospective applicants who align with your mission and academic strengths
- Increase visibility of your institution among populations often underrepresented in graduate education
Tabling at the Fair
The Graduate School Fair is held from Noon to 2:00 PM with no other concurrent workshops or sessions, ensuring maximum student attendance and engagement. The fair is centrally located on campus, creating a high-energy atmosphere where meaningful conversations can unfold. Each registration for the Graduate School Fair includes:
- 1 recruiter table
- 2 recruiter registrations
- Note: 2 additional recruiter registrations can be added ($25 per additional registration)
- Lunch
- 2 hours set aside exclusively for the graduate recruiter fair
- Early access to students through conference app

Institutional Impact and Representation
By attending, your institution demonstrates a tangible commitment to diversity, equity, and access in graduate education. Additionally, you have the opportunity to speak directly with students who may never have considered your institution, or even graduate school, as a possibility. Your presence could be the turning point in a student's academic journey.
Whether your goal is to build a pipeline to PhD programs or to attract a more representative applicant pool for master’s degrees, your presence sends a message: We see you, we welcome you, and we support your future.
